Micro-Fiction (An Excerpt)
Grace is blissfully off from school somewhere on the farm plains; When her beloved father suddenly falls ill; and it is up to her dear young cousin to find her before it’s too late to say goodbye forever.
It was two days after your fifteenth birthday, and I was not yet nine.
 
That evening, I brought your father's dinner to him because it was my turn.
 
He was always seated in his wooden armchair on the verandah and once I got there, I handed him the dish, and he headed inside. I never ever went in myself.
 
I waited outside as usual under the mango tree.
 
Soon after getting there, I heard a woman’s voice coming from inside the house, screaming.
